1920s Framed Lithograph – Arabic Street Scene by James Greig – 44cm
1920s Framed Lithograph – Arabic Street Scene by James Greig – 44cm
A beautifully detailed offset lithograph depicting an atmospheric Arabic street scene, based on the work of Scottish artist James Greig (1861–1941). Dating to the 1920s, this richly coloured print captures daily life in an imagined Middle Eastern setting, with domed buildings, minarets, and figures in traditional dress.
It’s presented in its original circular wooden frame, which features a lovely pressed floral motif around the edge and retains much of its old paint (now charmingly flaked with age).
Framed by A. Phillips, a North London picture framer and colourman – with original label on the back.
Condition:
The frame shows age-related wear and paint loss, which only adds to its antique charm. The print itself has some marks and surface wear under glass.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 44cm
