    Unit price per

An Arts and Crafts brass dish, hand-worked in repoussé with a bold Celtic interlace knot. The knot's raised, line-chased strands weave over and under one another against a punched, matted ground. A plain hammered border surrounds it, and the rim is crimped into a decorative pie crust edge.

Celtic interlace was a favourite motif of the Arts and Crafts movement, used widely by British and Irish metalworkers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The dish is unmarked and dates from around 1900 to 1920. It makes a good pin dish, card tray or small wall piece.

Diameter: 16.5cm
Material: brass
Date: c.1900–1920

Condition: Good antique condition. There are light surface scratches and small spots of residual polish and oxidation in the recesses, and some darkening inside the crimps of the rim on the underside, consistent with age. Please see photographs.
