The knot's raised, line-chased strands weave over and under one another against a punched, matted ground. A plain hammered border surrounds it, and the rim is crimped into a decorative pie crust edge.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCeltic interlace was a favourite motif of the Arts and Crafts movement, used widely by British and Irish metalworkers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The dish is unmarked and dates from around 1900 to 1920.
