Bonaldo Eos Floor Lamp by Mario Mazzer, Mid-Century Modern White Polyethylene Lamp, 161cm
A striking mid-century modern floor lamp, the Eos model designed by Mario Mazzer for the Italian furniture and lighting brand Bonaldo, based in Villanova di Camposampiero, Italy. Standing 161cm tall, the lamp is made from white polyethylene, giving it a sculptural, softly glowing quality when lit and a clean, architectural presence when off.
The design takes its name from Eos, the goddess of dawn in Greek mythology, often depicted with flower-like features. Mazzer drew on this imagery to create the piece’s distinctive petalled form, evoking the opening bloom of a crocus flower. The Eos design started life as a coat stand, with polyethylene chosen for its resistance to the elements, before being developed into this illuminated floor lamp version. Mazzer designed several other pieces for Bonaldo across wood, metal, and plastic, but Eos remains one of the brand’s most recognisable and sculptural forms.
The lamp reflects the confident, minimal lines typical of Bonaldo’s output, making it a strong statement piece for a modern interior while still carrying genuine design pedigree.
In fabulous condition throughout, ready to take pride of place in a living room, hallway, or reading corner.
