It shows warm and cold ocean currents and principal steamship routes, with distances in nautical miles. The political detail dates it to around the 1920s. It shows the Japanese and Australian Pacific mandates created after the First World War, alongside Persia, Siam, the Dominion of Canada, Manchuria and Nicholas II Land in the Arctic, all names that later changed.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe sphere turns freely within a brass half meridian with ball finials.
