RAF Airman Service Dress Peaked Cap, Queen's Crown, Size 58
A Royal Air Force airman's service dress peaked cap in RAF blue-grey wool, with a black mohair-effect band and a black patent peak.
The front carries an embroidered RAF cap badge in gold wire: the RAF monogram within a laurel wreath, beneath a Queen's (St Edward's) crown in coloured thread, on a black backing. The crown dates the cap to the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, and the issue label suggests the later 20th century. The cap has a black patent chinstrap with a sliding buckle and black side buttons.
Inside is a tan sweatband with a white ribbon bow, a grey satin-finish lining and a green underside to the peak. The original printed issue label reads "Cap Service Dress RAF Airman", with NATO stock number 8405-99-122-4659, size 58 and contract number CT2A/3341.
