Soviet Air Force Officer's Cap, Blue Band, Gilt Cords, Size 56

A Soviet Air Force officer's service peaked cap from around the 1980s. It has an olive twill crown with sky-blue piping and a sky-blue wool band, which is the branch colour of the Air Force.

The crown carries the gilt winged star of the Soviet Air Force. On the band is the officer's cockade, a red enamel star with hammer and sickle set on a gilt sunburst within a gilt oak and laurel wreath. Below it is a double gilt braided chin cord, which marks an officer, fastened with two gilt star buttons. The peak is glossy black.

Inside is a black leatherette sweatband and an olive lining with the original diamond label of the OKBO-1 military clothing factory in Minsk, marked size 56.

Condition: Very good used condition. The colours are bright and the badges and cords are complete. There are light surface scratches to the peak, and a little fluff to the fabric. Please see photographs.
