Stylish 1970’s Jopeko West German vase
This stylish West German pottery vase was produced in 1970’s design by Jopeko Keramik of West Germany. It stands approximately 20cm high. The glaze is a deep blue colour on the outside, and black or very deep brown on the inside. The angular handle and the steep sweeping sides of the vase create a minimalist and utterly elegant line.
It is marked with the form and size numbers 44/20 on the base.
Jopeko Keramik was founded in Ransbach Baumbach in 1948 by Johann Peter Korziliius, and his family still run the firm today. Nowadays they support independent studio potters by allowing them to use their facilities for limited runs of items.
