Turquoise Crackle Glaze Vase, Scandinavian Mid Century Style, 17cm

A cylindrical pottery vase in the Scandinavian mid century style, glazed in a vivid turquoise with a fine crackle. Staggered rows of raised rectangular blocks stand out from the body, with a dark brown wipe that collects around them and shows through on their edges. This gives a textured, brutalist look in the manner of 1960s and 70s Nordic studio ceramics.

The terracotta body shows at the rim edge, inside and on the base. The vase is unmarked.

Condition: Lovely condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The crackle in the glaze and the brown highlights are part of the design. The interior is unglazed, so please use a liner or a glass for fresh flowers. It is ideal for dried stems or as a display piece. Please see photographs.
