A wonderful and fully working example of the Space Age aesthetic that defined European domestic design in the late 1960s and 1970s. This orange eyeball desk lamp combines a rotating and tilting globe-form shade in vivid orange enamel with a polished chrome interior reflector, mounted on a chrome U-bracket above a square chrome and orange enamel base.
The globe head pivots freely, allowing light to be directed precisely where needed — whether as a focused task light or an ambient accent. The base features a simple black toggle switch on the orange enamel top panel, and the underside is finished with a walnut-effect wooden panel and chrome surround. The cable entry is neatly finished with an original black rubber grommet.
The lamp is in working order and has been PAT tested, making it ready to use immediately. The chrome retains good reflectivity, the orange enamel is vivid and largely unmarked, and the ventilation holes to the rear of the globe are clean and unobstructed.
At 20cm tall with a 13cm globe diameter, this is a compact but visually commanding piece — equally at home on a desk, shelf, or bedside table. It pairs naturally with other Space Age or mid-century design, and the orange colourway makes it a particularly strong decorative object in its own right.
Dimensions: 20cm tall, 13cm diameter
Condition: Working order, PAT tested. Minor age-related wear to chrome base.
