Vintage Metal Biplane Model G-PITZ | Pitts Special Aerobatic Aircraft Collectible
Vintage metal biplane model — G-PITZ
Double-wing biplane configuration styled after a 1930s aerobatic or sport aircraft, most closely resembling a Pitts Special — a type associated with competition aerobatics and airshow flying. Red painted pressed and formed metal construction throughout, with distinctive cream/white painted wing panels giving a two-tone finish, and wire bracing between the wings.
Markings include “G-PITZ” on the fuselage — a British civil aviation registration format, the “G-” prefix denoting a UK-registered aircraft. The tail features small white diamond details. An open cockpit is suggested by the cut-away fuselage behind the engine, with a detailed radial engine cowling visible from the front. The undercarriage has spatted (faired) wheels typical of the type, finished in red and white.
26cm wingspan, 27cm length, 392 grams.
A decorative collectible model in good overall condition, with some paint wear consistent with age. The registration G-PITZ is a neat nod to the Pitts Special, a favourite of airshow crowds since the 1940s.
