This handsome potbellied West German Pottery vase or jug was produced by Jasba Keramik in the 1960's. It is hallmarked Jasba on the base and bears the form and number marks 1231/20.  The glaze is a lovely mottled blue colour in the main, fading to a darker more constant blue at the neck and towards the base. It stands approximately 19cm high.  It is in lovely condition, with no chips or cracks.

Jasba Keramik was established in 1926 by Jakob Schwaderlapp in Ramsbach Baumbach. They became well known for high quality moulded ceramics. By 1971 the company had focused entirely on manufacturing mosaic tiles, something they do to this day.
